Fighting Hunger Close to Home
What started as a soup kitchen grew into one of Southeast Massachusetts’ largest hunger relief providers, the Greater Fall River Community Food Pantry. Serving a large number of residents a month at our location, we distribute food free-of-charge to residents of Fall River, Massachusetts and the seven surrounding communities of Somerset, Swansea, Little Compton, Tiverton, Westport, Freetown and Assonet.
Neighbors Helping Neighbors
Staffed with volunteers and led by their volunteer board, the Greater Fall River Community Food Pantry connects community members who want to help with the mechanism to do so. Hallmarks of the GFRCFP experience include:
- Community: Shopping should be fun. Our volunteers bring their positive attitudes to make every interaction count.
- Choice: Sourced from local farms or donated from community suppliers, the variety of fresh and shelf-stable food we can offer allows our patrons to cook from scratch, treat their families and eat the food that they love
- Connection: We’ve spent years developing great relationships with community organizations, suppliers, and our neighbors in need. As our alliances expand we continue to help local organizations maximize their resources to assist more people.
